On 13 December, the Antonella Villanova Gallery will inaugurate Enzo Cucchi's solo exhibition. On display will be a large ceramic piece created by the artist specifically for Outsider Project and three yellow gold bracelets. In these works, the artist highlights the themes dear to him, translating them into objects that combine sculptural dimensions with an attention to functionality: the encroachment into the realm of myth, the evocation of Mediterranean sacredness, the scanning of architectures suspended in a sort of metaphysical mystery. The installation planned by the artist also includes a Fontana Arte table from the 1950s and three creations by Ettore Sottsass, with whom he had maintained a friendship and frequent collaboration since 1999. The jewellery and ceramic works are charged with further energy and meaning when compared with a parallel tradition, reflected in the culture of the recently deceased great designer, equally rooted in respect for the genius loci and inspired by Mediterranean colours and architecture. The exhibition is organised in collaboration with Roberto Giustini and the Babuino 900 Gallery in Rome.
